Minutes of the shelter cluster meeting held on 18th February 9.30 – 12:00 at DBG office:

Agenda / Issues Discussed
Introduction: / The meeting commenced with introduction of all partners.
Updates: / The following updates were provided by the following Partners:
REACH is planning to conduct tri cluster assessment, Wash, Education, and Shelter.
  • Also planning to conduct M.E training specifically for the shelter cluster partners,
  • Also planning to conduct 4 rapid assessment( location and time is not yet designed)
SOHDA is also planning to distribute 222 shelter box tents that compose (5 blankets, ground sheets, 2 mosquitoes, 10 litres jerry cans, kitchen sets, and thirst and station kit, 2 solar lamps laminate in Sarakusta in Deynile.
SYPD is planning to construct 91 CGI shelters in Marka-Lower Shebelle 40 shelter have been already constructed and the rest are still ongoing, and91 in Beletweyne in Hiraan region funded by CHF.
DBG/DKH is also planning to distribute 2000 ESKs to the IDPs along k7 to k13 in Banadir region through vouchers 1800 will be fixed vouchers while the rest 200 will be flexible vouchers.
NRC distributed 1000 silver grey plastic sheeting to the evicted IDPs along sarakusta area along k7 to k13 and has already uploaded the data in the platform.
ACTED promised to share the HUB collected information with the members as soon as its collection is finalized.
IDP eviction and the way forward / Forced IDPs evictions remain a major concern in Mogadishu, there are also reports of evictions in Kismayo. Recent evictions took place at KM 10. The protection cluster developed monitoring systems where 50 individual enumerators were trained on post eviction assessment through the use of mobile phones. ICCG meeting highlighted the need to develop an integrated post eviction rapid assessment tool covering all sectors and should be specific Mogadishu as it is epicentre of IDPs eviction that is planned to be done in Rajo IDP camp in Wadajir. The members promised to share any eviction update with the cluster.
Reporting of the 4w matrix using the mobile platform : / The partners that have ongoing projects promised to collect their data on the mobile platform like for the case of NRC distribute 1000 Plastic sheets and they have uploaded the plastic sheets they distributed this week.
Reports / This was also discussed as a priority for the partners to share with the cluster all kinds of reports that each one of them has conducted regarding shelter or NFI.
AOB / Venue for the meeting was also an issue for the partners, DBG volunteered that they will provide the venue for the meeting.( many thanks Bashiir for the nice hospitality )
Adjournment / The meeting was adjourned at 12:30PM and the next meeting was scheduled on 15thMarch.
