City Council Meeting opened at 7:00 pm by Mayor Nissen

CALL THE MEETING TO ORDER

Minutes Approval – Motion to approve the minutes of the June 22, 2015, meeting made by Monson/Hall, all yes, motion carried.

Accounts payable –Motion to approve accounts payable, for a total of $88,733.93 made by Bakalyar/Pavelko, all yes, motion carried.

AGENDA ITEMS:

1.  Approve new EMTs to the ambulance crew -- Motion to approve hiring the listed EMT to the Lakefield Ambulance Service made by Pavelko/Monson, all yes, motion carried.

2.  Change August 3, 2015 meeting date to enable council members to attend the Prairie Ecology Bus Center annual steak fry – Motion to change August meeting dates to August 10, 2015 and August 24, 2015, made by Bakalyar/Monson all yes, motion carried.

3.  Planning & Zoning Appointment – Motion to approve Ron Peters to fill Darrel Hage’s position on the board made by Bakalyar/Hall, all yes, motion carried. His term will expire December 31, 2015.

4.  Waste Water Chemical Feed Building – Motion to approve the plumbing bid of $15,200 received from Ehrich Plumbing & Heating for the chemical feed building made by Bakalyar/Pavelko, all yes, motion carried. This is the last bid to be accepted for the project to begin.

OLD BUSINESS

1.  Bonds Refinancing --The council desires to leave the trigger amount at $85,000.

OTHER BUSINESS

1.  Council Workshop – The council will hold a workshop on Monday, July 27, 2015, at 5:30 p.m. The workshop will begin at the “old” Jackson County shop for a walk thru.

DEPARTMENT REPORTS

1.  Superintendent Koep

  1. Crushing concrete, using it as base for the bike/walk trail.
  2. West Lakefield paving planning to begin Monday, July 06, 2015, but rain caused a delay to the paving project. Contractor planning to return Tuesday, July 07, 2015.
  3. Met with adjuster from League of MN Cities Insurance Trust to evaluate storm damage. Collecting replacement costs for the damage to the swing set, trees and labor to clean up the park.
