EXCELSIOR HIGH SCHOOL

75TH ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATIONS

HOMECOMING WEEK NOVEMBER 19-25 2006

Sunday,
November 19 / WELCOME LYME
Where it all begins. We are taken back to the setting of Excelsior High School, utilizing the area of the front lawn and auditorium. This provides us with the opportunity to link with old friends as we welcome each other for Homecoming 2006.
A causal and friendly atmosphere will be created with light refreshments, recorded music and sporadic entertainment. “Hosts” will man the tables which will allow alumni to be registered as a participants in the 75th Anniversary “event”.
There will also be stalls set up for the purchase of souvenirs, as well as tickets to upcoming events in the Homecoming Week.
Monday,
November 20 / RETRO DAY
A reversal of roles? Past students return to the classrooms as teachers for the first half of the school day. The school scene at Excelsior will remain as authentic as ever, as professionals in various fields are supervised by the day’s “Retro Principal”.
After lunch, students could seize the opportunity to have other questions answered and other topics discussed informally.
Wednesday,
November 22 / SPORTS EXTRAVAGANZA
Put on the sport gears and prepare for battle. Sports and Games will be the order of the day as alumni and current students mix and mingle on the field of play. Sporting celebrities of yesteryear have been invited to compete against brave challengers in netball, football, cricket and the like.
The Physical Education (PE) Department is in charge and will rally the houses in their array of colours. There will be a game for everyone.
Thursday,
November 23 / ANNIVERSARY BANQUET & AWARDS
The Grand Event of the week takes place at the Pegasus Hotel in New Kingston and will begin at 7:00 p.m. with Cocktails. A sumptuous 3-course meal awaits you as we dine to live background music and pleasant conversation.

Friday,
November 24 / CLASS ACT
