Sarasota County and Bradenton Area EDCspresent 2nd Annual Health Innovation Week November 7-11 2016

SARASOTA, Fla. (November 8, 2018) For the second year in a row, the Economic Development Corporation of Sarasota County and the Bradenton Area EDC, are working with over 50 area health innovation companies to present Health Innovation Week, Novermber 7th through November 11th. The Health Innovation Project is made possible by the Gulf Coast Community Foundation.

During this week, local companies in Sarasota and Manatee Counties who are leading advances in health innovation nationally and globally will present a number of open houses and special events intended to underscore the importance of this sector to the local economy.

Local companies and research institutes are creating and developing exciting new ideas and products that improve all aspects of healthcare – communications, wellness diagnostics, and treatments. The Health Innovation Project brings together all of Sarasota and Manatee Counties’ leading health innovators into one powerful, collaborative force for change and advances to healthcare.

“We want to tell the story of the region’s emergence as a center for health innovation in a way that can attract more resources for the sector to continue growing,” said Mark Huey,President and CEO of the Economic Development Corp. of Sarasota County. “Letting our own companies, CEOs and entrepreneurs do the talking is an effective approach, and the rapid momentum we are seeing for the Health Innovation Week proves it.”

“This is a great opportunity to tell the community and the world what our region is doing as a health innovation center,” said Sharon Hillstrom, President and CEO of the Bradenton Area Economic Development Corp. “It is also an opportunity for those in the industry to learn more about other local health care innovators.”

  • 3rd Annual BioTech Expo on November 10th at Ringling College of Art and Design presented by the Sarasota/Bradenton Chapter of BioFlorida
  • Voalte User Experience Conference, November 9th-11th
  • Company Open Houses are scheduled during the week at CAE Healthcare, State College of Florida Manatee-Sarasota, LECOM, Roskamp Institute, RPS Diagnostics, Enzymedica , Florida Integrative Medical Center/WIT International, LLC.
