Ecotrust

Ecotrust is a Portland-based organization founded in 1991 by a group of committed individuals, led by Spencer Beebe, whose mission is to inspire fresh thinking that creates economic opportunity, social equity, and environmental well-being. The goal of Ecotrust is to foster a natural model of development that creates more resilient communities, economies, and ecosystems here and around the world.

Since2001, Ecotrust has recognized 48 tribal leaders from Oregon, Washington, California, western Montana, Nevada, Idaho, Alaska, British Columbia, and the Yukon Territory who give back to their communities by working to improve their resource base, cultural base, economic security, or health and wellness.
