A.  Ben Stanphill motioned to approve meeting minutes, Andrew Pham seconded the motion and motion was unanimously approved.

IV.  President’s Report (Jeannette)

A.  WRYMC 2010 in San Diego – Feb 26-28

-  5 rooms have been reserved for OC

-  11 members registered for conference – if interested in carpooling please let Jeannette know where you live and what time you want to leave for San Diego

B.  March meeting will be at the City of Irvine (meetings will be held here until July). The doors close at 5:30, so you will have to call Andrew at (714) 369-4228 to be let in. The address is 1 Civic Center Plaza, Irvine, CA 92606 Room CTC.

A.  Potential upcoming technical tours:

-  OCRW Recycling Center and energy process tour

-  Oil rig platform technical tour in Long Beach with CSULB (April)

IX.  K-12 Outreach Chairs (Chao/Edelyne)

A.  Popsicle stick bridge meeting- currently have 8 volunteers. Please contact Chao to coordinate carpooling.

B.  High School visitations on 3/12/10 & 3/26/10 at McGarvin Intermediate from 8am to 2pm. Please contact Jeannette if you are interested.

C.  Vital Link event on Feb 24 in Irvine, sponsored by OCDE – 5pm- Meeting with other organizations to coordinate outreach events. Please contact Jeannette if you are interested.

D.  PSBC awarded the LACES Harry Staubs Outreach Award

E.  Bolsa Grande High School Visitation – April 9th

X.  Social Chair’s Report (Andrew/Tony)

A.  Mammoth Trip (RECAP) – January 29-31, 2010 – Had a total of 18 people from OC attend. Stayed underbudget.

B.  General meeting – March 11th at 6pm at El Torito in Irvine.

C.  Whitewater rafting – June 18-20th – Rocio coordinated this joint YMF trip. Availability for 80 people. More information to follow.

XI.  Community Outreach Chairs Report (Ben/Dane)

A.  Habitat for Humanity – Rescheduled for March. More information to follow.

B.  Big Sunday – May 21

C.  Corazon – June 5th

XII.  Programs Chair (Patricia)

A.  Coordinating with Brandon and Gary Gilbert for contacts and to plan an event.

B.  Jeannette suggested a communications seminar with Steven Kaye.

XIII.  Webmaster (Bill De Jong)

A.  Website pictures and information to be updated; website redesign forthcoming later in the year.

A.  3-on-3 basketball tournament – March 27th (Saturday)

A.  Golf tournament –June 11th at Eagle Glen Golf Club in Corona. More detail to come.

A.  Chair is needed if you are interested please contact Jeannette. Rob Henderson has provided documents with timelines and approximate time commitment.

-  January 23rd Student Round-Up (RECAP)

-  CSUF has a new Practitioner Advisor – Jeannette Simental, looking for a second CSULB Practitioner Advisor

-  PSWC – April 8-10 Las Vegas. Contact Jeannette if you are interested in going.

B.  Legislative Activities (Patricia)

-  Patricia and Ben attended Fly-in (RECAP)

1.  Patricia will keep us updated on the upcoming bond measures.

2.  Want to encourage more younger members to get involved with legislative activities.

-  Jeff Girard has been appointed chair of LA Section Legislative Activities Committee

C.  Lifetime Member Forum (Mario)

-  Luncheon – March 6th – Will sponsor a table, so contact Jeannette if you would like to attend.

D.  ASCE-Los Angeles Section (Marlon)

-  Joint meeting held February 6th (RECAP) - Josue

1.  Mammoth trip – next year try to get all YMF groups together; maybe have a happy hour at the condo clubhouse.

2.  LA YMF volunteered to help us our by hosting the Popsicle Stick Bridge Competition since OC is hosting WRYMC.

3.  Josue motioned to suspend hosting PSBC for a year and have LA YMF host, Ben Stanphill seconded the motion and motion was unanimously approved.

-  MLAB Annual Student Night and Career Fair March 19th at Marina Del Rey

-  Next Joint meeting August 14th – OC to host, 9 a.m. Andrew to reserve a room.
