In 1969, when the League of Women Voters of Connecticut and Yale University began their co-sponsorship of our annual “SIR,” the letters stood for “School of International Relations.” Today, under the aegis of the LWVCT Education Fund and the MacMillan Center for International and Area Studies at Yale University, they stand for “Symposium on International Relations.”
