I.  Treasurer's Report (Renner/Wadley):

a.  Carolyn Renner (former Treasurer) gave a report on the current state of finances for the Section. There is a balance of $16,280.73. It was further reported that 2015 was the first time that the Section had a negative net income but it is unclear whether the State Bar has reimbursed the Section for the dues of all Members at this time.

II.  Chair Update (Quinn):

a.  2016 Board

i.  The 2016 Board of the Construction Law Section has been approved by the State Bar and is listed on the website.

b.  Angel Tree

i.  Angel Tree was very successful again and the Board anticipates that the Section will participate again next Christmas.

c.  State Bar Convention Deadline for Presentation Proposal

i.  The Section missed the deadline to submit a proposal for presenting at the State Bar Convention and subsequent inquiry to the bar confirmed that all presentation slots were filled. The Section will definitely submit a proposal for next year’s convention.

III.  New Business

a.  CLE

i.  The Board discussed holding two CLEs, free for members this year. One in the first six months of the year, and one in the second half of the year. The first CLE date is still to be determined, although possibly in April, and will fulfill the requirement of substance abuse, addictive disorders and/or mental health. The Board will review proposals of possibly instructors for such CLE.

b.  Section Social

i.  The Board discussed a potential social and, to gain interest, either inviting new admittees or holding it in conjunction with another section. Matter tabled until next meeting.

c.  Other upcoming events/marketing?

i.  Tabled until next meeting

d.  Amicus Brief committee- Ted Chrissinger

i.  The Board discussed the committee. Carolyn Renner will reach out to Ted regarding chairing the committee and whether he will reach out to the family law section for input on such a committee.

e.  NV Lawyer Articles

i.  Tabled until next meeting

f.  Time/place/manner of board meeting

i.  The timing, place and manner of the board meeting was discussed as to whether the last Thursday of the month at 3 p.m. is still best for the Board Members. It was determined that lunch meetings would be better and, if possible, in person for the Board Members that live in the same place. Board Meetings will still be the last Thursday of the month, but at noon.

IV.  Next Board Meeting - February 25, 2016 at 12 p.m.

V.  Miscellaneous

a.  Board unanimously decided to post all minutes from Board Meetings on website

b.  Board unanimously approved a gift to the outgoing President, Michael Kimmel
