2016 Theme: “Breaking the Cycle”
The 2013 mean composite ACT score for the Memphis City School District was 16.2*, where scores can range from 12 to 36. While seventy percent of high school students in Memphis may graduate high school, many students do not have the access to resources necessary to foster their passion for education. Out of gratitude for the education we have received at Hutchison, we are seeking applicants whose programs fall under the following categories: empowering students through extracurricular activities, tutoring, and mentorship in order to foster the desire to continue their education. In order to break the perpetuating cycle of inadequate education, this grant will provide a better avenue of success for the children of our city.
