Greens Bayou Community Survey Under Way

People who dream of more trails, parks and amenities along Greens Bayou can now share their ideas using an online survey.

The Greens Bayou Corridor Coalition recently held public meetings to gather input on a master plan for the region. People who weren't able to attend can go to greensbayou.org and complete a survey about outdoor amenities in the corridor.

During the public meetings, participants identified more than 100 potential projects, which included areas in need of clean up and ideas for parks and trails.

The goals of the planning process are to:

·  Conserve the corridor's most important natural and cultural resources

·  Create a diverse system of recreation opportunities

·  Manage the corridor's natural and improved landscaping

·  Foster a system of interconnected parks and trails that link neighborhoods and destinations

·  Assure that projects are sustainably designed and are maintained for years to come

Input gathered from the survey will be used to guide the master plan for the Greens Bayou corridor. Implementing the actions recommended in the plan will depend on future funding availability from current and potential partners.

Greens Bayou meanders approximately 45 miles throughout Houston, Spring, Greenspoint, Jersey Village, Jacinto City, Galena Park, Humble and Harris County. Anyone with ideas or thoughts about Greens Bayou is invited to complete the 18-question survey.

Go to www.greensbayou.org and look for the link to the survey on the homepage. The survey can also be accessed directly at www.surveymonkey.com/s/DD8RXCD. The deadline to complete the survey is April 30.
