ADVERTISEMENT FOR FACULTY/ADMINISTRATIVE POSITIONS AT THE INSTITUTE
Applications are invited on prescribed format for the following posts:
- Registrar (UR-1)
Pay Scale: Rs. 37400-67000, Grade Pay Rs. 10,000/- Plus other all allowances as per rules and regulations for the employees of the Institute from time to time.
Retirement Age is 62 Year
Eligibility: No person shall be eligible to hold the post of Registrar who is not eligible to be appointed as a Professor in any University established by an Act of the Legislature of the State of Bihar.
Minimum Qualification: At least Second Class M. A. in Social Science subject and Seven years administrative experience in a Government or Public Sector Educational or Research Institution.
- Professors (5) – Agriculture Economics (UR-1), Social Psychology (BC-1),Political Science (SC-1), Social Geography (UR-1), Non-Violence and Peace (EBC-1)
(Pay scale: Rs. 37,400 – 67,000 + AGP 10,000)
Educational Qualification,Experience
- An eminent scholar with Ph. D. qualification in the relevant area and with evidence of published work with a minimum of 10 publications as books and/or research/policy papers in reputed publications or referred Journals.
- A minimum of 10 years of teaching/research experience in which minimum of 5 years as Associate Professor in University/College/National Level Institutions including experience of guiding candidates for research at doctoral level with special interest in development and change.
- Even the name of those potential candidates who do not apply for the appointment of senior faculty positions can be considered by the BOC at its initiative and the Institute may also entertain applications/recommendations of suitable candidates in absentia for consideration of the Selection Committee even if one has not applied for.
- Associate Professors (5) – Sociology (UR-1), Statistics (SC-1), Non-Violence and Peace-2 (EBC-1, UR-1), Social Geography (UR-1)
(Pay scale: Rs. 37,400 – 67,000 + AGP 9,000)
Educational Qualification, Experience
- Good academic record with a Ph. D degree in the relevant area with special interest in development and change.
- At least 55% of the marks or equivalent grade wherever grading system is followed at the Master’s degree level.
- A minimum of five years of experience of teaching and/or research in an academic/research position equivalent to that of Assistant Professor in a University/College or Accredited Research Institution excluding the period of Ph.D research with evidence of refereed published work as books and/or research/policy papers.
- Holders of Ph. D. Degree as on the date of Notification of UGC Regulations, along with those candidates who are awarded a Ph. D. Degree through a process of admission, registration, course work and external evaluation as laid down in the UGC (Minimum Standards and Procedures for award of M. Phil/Ph.D., Regulations, 2009) and so adopted by the University, shall be exempted form NET.
- A relaxation of 5% marks in the educational qualification will be provided on the master degree level for SC/ST categories.
- Assistant Professors (8) – Economics (UR-1), Agriculture Economics (BC Women-1), Non-Violence and Peace-3 (EBC-1, UR-1, SC-1), Social Geography (UR-1), Social Psychology (UR-1, SC-1)
(Pay scale: Rs. 15,600 – 39,100 + AGP 6,000)
Educational Qualification, Experience
- Good academic record with at least 55% of the marks or equivalent grade where grading system is practised at the Master’s degree level in a relevant subject from an Indian University, or an equivalent degree from an accredited foreign University.
- Besides fulfilling the above qualifications, the candidate should have cleared the national Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by the UGC or similar test accredited by the UGC.
- Holders of Ph. D. Degree as on the date of Notification of UGC Regulations, along with those candidates who are awarded a Ph. D. Degree through a process of admission, registration, course work and external evaluation as laid down in the UGC (Minimum Standards and Procedures for award of M. Phil/Ph.D. , Regulations, 2009) and so adopted by the University, shall be exempted form NET.

- Age of superannuation is 65 year for faculty positions and 62 year for Registrar.
- Since the focus of ANSISS is on the issues of development and change, preference may be given to candidates with a good record of work and recognition in related fields.
- Roster Rules will be applicable as per Institute’s Rules and Regulations.
- Desirable Qualification
(a)Preference will be given to quality research and publications in peer reviewed journals.
(b)Candidates are required to submit following along with application form for consideration of the Screening/Selection Committee:
- Copy of best considered recently published research paper (s) in peer reviewed journal.
- A publishable research paper for seminar presentation beforethe committee and
- A work plan for next two years in area of interest and specialization.
(c)Candidates are required to be computer and internet savvy.
- Selection Procedure
Selection will be made on the basis of interview of the short-listed candidates as per UGC norms. However, mere satisfying the eligibility norms does not entitle a candidate to be called for an interview. Depending upon the number of applications received in relation to number of vacancies, the Institute reserves the right to call only a limited number of candidates after preliminary screening with reference to their qualifications, suitability, experience, quality of papers published, etc. A written test for the Post of Assistant Professor may be taken before screening if number of candidates is considered more than adequate by the competent authority. The Selection Committee may relax qualifications in exceptionally deserving cases and also consider suitable candidates from outside the list of applicants.
The institute has the right to increase/decrease the number of posts mentioned in the advertisement.

Applications for Professors and Associate Professors should accompany copies of at least two recent publications in peer reviewed journals best considered by the candidate. Roster rules of the Institute are applicable. Recommendations for the name of those potential candidates with their consents, who have not applied for Senior Faculty positions, will also be considered in absentia by the Selection committee. The Institute reserves the rights to fill up and not to fill up any positions or otherwise. Undesirable canvassing or influence in any form may result into disqualification of the candidature.
