Unicorn Fund Scholarship Application

  1. A student must be graduating or receiving a GED equivalency diploma with her/her regular class at the conclusion of the regular school term at a Morgan or ScottCountySchool.

Under certain circumstances, an adult with young children may apply for financial assistance by submitting a request to the Board of Directors of the Unicorn Fund.

  1. The applicant must have been accepted at the college, university or vocational/technical school of his/her choice.
  1. At least four scholarships will be awarded in each county high school system. Each scholarship will be at least $500 and not more than $1,000.
  1. Recipients will be notified of the award prior to graduation and a formal announcement will be made at commencement or at the school’s awards ceremony.
  1. Scholarship monies will be disbursed on a quarterly or semester schedule. Check will be made payable to the school for payment of fees whenever possible. Any deviation from this policy or any advance of funds must be approved by a majority of the scholarship committee.
  1. If a student withdraws from school, any funds returned by the school will be granted to an alternate recipient.
  1. Students are encouraged to maintain contact with the Unicorn Fund in case additional aid is needed with financial or personal problems.

Total household income in relation to the number of children and others with special needs should be detailed. Also describe your school and extracurricular activities, attaching additional pages, transcripts or letter of recommendations as appropriate.
