This document outlines the Internet services and hardware that will need to be in place in order to use any Ryko product features that use the Internet. Those features will not be operational until these services are in place. This will not impact the ability to wash cars.

Web Site Server

If Ryko is not supplying the computer system, the system will require the following minimums:

  • Pentium IV at 1 Gigahertz
  • 512 MB RAM
  • 10 Gig Free Hard Drive Space
  • Win 2000 Pro or XP Pro
  • CDRW Drive (backups)
  • Monitor, Keyboard, Mouse
  • One spare PCI Slot

Ethernet based Internet Access1 such as DSL or Cable Modem

Static IP Address1 - This gives the website a unique address on the Internet.

Domain Name4 (Example: - This will make it easy for customers to find the website.

Name Server Registration of the Static IP Address4 - This is part of your Domain Name Registration process, helps other computers find the website.

Secure Socket Layer Certificate5 – This will provide an encryption so that credit card transactions remain secure from the website.

If there will be other hardware sharing this Internet connection, it is highly recommended that a firewall be added to protect that equipment. If other Ryko equipment will be sharing this connection, it is mandatory that a firewall be used to protect the equipment.2

GSM Service with GPRS3 - This allows for internet access on the Cellular Network

SIM Security Card3 - This is used by the Cellular Company to identify your modem as a phone on their network.

SMS Messaging Plan3 (if SMS messagingwill be used) - This allows for Text Messages to be sent to cell phones

All Assigned Phone Numbers3 - Since it is a cell phone, it is assigned phone numbers. GSM phone modems can have several numbers assigned to them for various uses.

If Ryko is not supplying the computer system, the system will require the following minimums:

  • Any Internet Access – High Speed Access is highly recommended (DSL, Cable Modem)
  • Any Hardware needed for Internet Access (i.e. Modems)

Local at Carwash

  • Ethernet based Internet Access1 such as DSL, Cable Modem, or T1
  • Static IP Address1 - This gives the server a unique address on the internet
  • Note: Virtual Private Network (VPN) provided in kit from Ryko will provide the needed firewall security.

  • 160 Gig Free Hard Drive Space for up to 8 Cameras
  • 320 Gig Free Hard Drive Space for 9 to 16 Cameras
  • Win 2000 Pro or XP Pro
  • CDRW Drive (backups)
  • Monitor, Keyboard, Mouse
  • One spare PCI Slot

Firewall Hardware for Internet Security

If Ryko is not supplying the Firewall, the system will require the following minimums:

  • A Firewall with enough ports to accommodate all devices that will be connected to the Internet. If there are not enough ports on the firewall then additional ports must be added through the use of switches or routers.
  • A firewall is required for each location connected to the Internet (e.g. each Car Wash Site, Home, and/or Office that will access the Internet).
  • All devices must be configured with static IPs so that port forwarding can be used.
  • Depending on which devices are behind the firewall the following ports must be forwarded:
