LANDSCAPE ARCHITECTURAL SERVICES WANTED

Applications for Landscape Architectural Services for the following project will be accepted until 4:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 22, 2007. (Your attention is called to the 4:00 p.m. deadline -- exceptions WILL NOT be made). APPLICATIONS SHALL BE SUBMITTED ON THE STANDARD FORM 2003 EDITION ONLY, WITH NO ADDITIONAL SHEETS OF PAPER ATTACHED. THIS STANDARD FORM LLASB-1 Edition 2003 HAS AN INSTRUCTION SHEET AND ADDITIONAL PRE-NUMBERED PAGES FOR ADDITIONAL INFORMATION. PLEASE BE SURE TO USE AN UP-TO-DATE COPY OF THE FORM. THESE FORMS ARE AVAILABLE AT THE SELECTION BOARD OFFICE AND ARE AVAILABLE BY ELECTRONIC MAIL. DO NOT ATTACH ANY ADDITIONAL SHEETS TO THIS APPLICATION. EIGHT (8) COPIES OF EACH APPLICATION MUST BE SUBMITTED OF WHICH ONE MUST BE A SIGNED AND SEALED ORIGINAL AND SEVEN (7) COPIES (PHOTOCOPIES ACCEPTABLE). SUBMITTALS SHALL NOT BE BOUND, BUT MAY BE STAPLED. ANY APPLICATIONS WITH ATTACHMENTS IN ADDITION TO THE PRE-NUMBERED SHEETS OR OTHERWISE NOT FOLLOWING THIS FORMAT WILL BE DISCARDED. ANY PERSON REQUIRING SPECIAL ACCOMMODATIONS SHALL NOTIFY FACILITY PLANNING AND CONTROL OF THE TYPES OF ACCOMMODATION REQUIRED NOT LESS THAN SEVEN (7) DAYS BEFORE THE SELECTION BOARD MEETING.

1) Rehabilitation of Historic Grounds, OldState Capitol, Baton RougeLA, PROJECT No. 04-139-02B-08, Part 06.

The project area, defined as the grounds of the LA Old State Capitol, is approximately 155,000 SF, consists of the Historical Rehabilitation of a significant site into a park. Activities are to include pedestrian walks, demonstration and stroll gardens, outdoor classroom, bird habitat, special events gathering area, water feature, education and interpretive signage. Other program elements are to include vehicular parking, service access, connections to downtown streets and walks, site lighting, irrigation and drainage. The park will be a resource that will extend the mission of the museum by renewing its horticultural legacy and developing a program that interprets the ecology and cultural conditions of its unique position along the Mississippi River for individuals, families, school children and to all who visit the museum. The designer shall prepare and submit all required drawings to Facility Planning and Control in AutoCAD in the format specified in the “Instructions to Designers for AutoCAD Drawings Submittal.” The funds available for construction for this project are approximately $2,500,000.00 with a fee of approximately $219,793.00. Contract design time is 365 consecutive calendar days; including 122 days of design review time. Thereafter, liquidated damages in the amount of $200.00 per day will be assessed. In addition to the statutory requirements, professional liability insurance covering the work involved will be required in an amount specified in the following schedule. This will be required at the time the designer’s contract is signed. Proof of coverage will be required at that time.

Applicant firms should be familiar with the above stated requirements prior to application. The firm(s) selected for the project(s) will be required to sign the state's standard Contract Between Owner and Designer. When these projects are financed either partially or entirely with Bonds, the award of the contract is contingent upon the sale of bonds or the issuance of a line of credit by the State Bond Commission. The State shall incur no obligation to the designer until the Contract Between Owner and Designer is fully executed.

Firms will be expected to have all the expertise necessary to provide all architectural services required by the Louisiana Capital Improvement Projects Procedure Manual for Design and Construction, for the projects for which they are applying. Unless indicated otherwise in the project description, there will be no additional fee for consultants.
