As promised in a recent email, Bill provided a written Scoutmaster’s report. A copy is attached. The report stresses the need for improved communication. We need to use every tool available. Bill and Andy plan to preset permanent dates to allow families to plan. The scribes will hand out, mail, and email the calendar. When troop meeting announcements are underway eve3rything needs to stop. Jeff suggested we encourage personal accountability. Charge the patrol leaders to accomplish their jobs. Bill plans to periodically review progress toward the goals listed in his report.
Summer Camp – Bill has talked to Lloyd. Hale has lost its personality. After the discussion Lloyd offered some info on Many Points camp in Minnesota. A summer camp selection committee will be set by the October committee meeting and a decision will be made by the November meeting.
Leader Training – Identify new dads and get them involved
Float trip – Ted did a great job.
Court of honor – Sunday attendance was up. November 19th was set as the next Court. John Points will work on Webelos Woods and invite them to the court. There was a suggestion to do the troop awards first to build toward Eagle but have a set time to start the Eagle presentations. Bill plans to delegate more court preparation.
New idea – Andy will plan the Mar campout. This will continue. The outgoing SPL will plan the 1st campout in the next term, to aid the transition.
