Sunday School Hosts and Hostesses

SUNDAY SCHOOL HOSTS AND HOSTESSES

You provide an important service by helping make our church friendly and accessible to all who attend. Thank you for serving!!!

As a Sunday School host/hostess, you are to assist the Children’s Ministry Director and Sunday School teachers in making sure that our Sunday School hour is running smoothly. Your primary focus should be to assist teachers and welcome visitors. Each host/hostess is asked to serve one Sunday a month for an entire school year (September-August).

Hosts will be stationed in the hall to greet and give directions on either the 1st floor or the 2nd and 3rd floors. After picking up your host name tag in the Children’s Ministry office, you should report to your floor at 9:00 a.m. Once Sunday School is in session, make yourselves available to teachers by walking in the hall. If you notice that a Sunday School class is short-handed, please offer your assistance.

1st floor hosts: Hosts should stand just outside the Children’s Ministry office. Once Sunday School is in session, please make yourselves available to the 1st floor teachers as well as the teachers in the pre-school building. (There are 3 classes there) Outside the Children’s Ministry office is a rolling podium with tubs for all the Sunday School classes and Church Time. The teachers will pick up their tubs on the way to their rooms and by 10:10 a.m. Church Time workers should have picked up their material. Should a teacher need supplies for their class, you can direct them to the supply closet in the Children’s Ministry office.

2nd / 3rd Floor hosts:Hosts should stand next to the cafeteria in front of the stairwell to greet people as they arrive, make a special effort to look for and greet visitors. Once Sunday School is in session, it is important that you rotate between the 2nd and 3rd floors.
