This competition is intended to prepare and encourage young members to take part in one day eventing. It is strictly for beginners and genuine novices.

CLASS 1

DRESSAGE TEST INTRODUCTORY 2007

SHOW JUMPING AND CROSS COUNTRY MAX HEIGHT 60 cm

This class is for true novices and for beginners

The dressage test may be commanded and a helper may run round the arena with the rider but may NOT lead the pony.

In the show jumping and cross country a helper may run round the course with the rider but may not lead the pony. Very gentle verbal encouragement is allowed. The cross country course is in an enclosed area in one field

Class 2

Dressage test introductory 2007

Show jumping and cross country maxi height 75 cm

The dressage test may be commanded but helpers must not enter the arena, or the show jumping arena or run round the cross country course and must not give any verbal encouragement, however gently!

Prizes and rosettes to 6th place in each class with prizes for best dressage in each class.

There will be a trophy for the winner for class 2

Competitors must be correctly dressed for the prize giving.

RULES AND CONDITIONS OF ENTRY

  • The event will be run as a ‘proper’ one day event with the emphasis on competitors learning the ropes in a fun environment.
  • The competition will be run under pony club horse trials rules 2010 subject to local conditions – except that any normal bit may be used for the dressage. No eliminations will be incurred.
  • Age as 1st January 2010
  • The judges decision is final
  • Times will be posted on the sir www website by 16th august or please ring lucy Moreau between 6 – 9 p.m. on 01939 260340 on 16th august if you are unable to access the internet.
  • No dogs allowed
  • Hats must conform to the new pony club standard and must carry a pony club tag.
  • A body protector must be worn when riding cross country plus medical armbands (these will be available to buy on the day) long sleeves must also be worn cross country.
  • Riders must attend prize giving correctly dressed in order to receive any prizes.

Save for death or personal injury caused by the negligence of the organisers or anyone for whom they are in law responsible, neither the organisers of this event nor the pony club nor any agent, employee or representative of these bodies accepts liability for any accident, loss, damage, injury or illness to horse, owners, riders, spectators, land, cars, their contents and accessories or any other person or property whatsoever whether caused by their negligence, breach of contract or in any other way whatsoever. Members of other branches of the pony club must have their entry forms countersigned by their D.C.

The organisers of this event have taken reasonable precautions to ensure the health and safety of every person present. For these measures to be effective, everyone must take reasonable precautions to avoid and prevent accidents occurring, and must obey the instructions of the organisers and all officials and stewards
