Mr. Jobe’s Rainforest Research Project Instructions

For this project, students will choose a rainforest animal to research and present to the class. They will create a booklet with the information they gather, as well as a visual aid to show the class during their presentation. The deadline for the research and writing is Thursday, May 25, 2017. The deadline for the visual aid is Tuesday, May 30, 2017. Students will present their projects to the class during the last week of school.

Student Instructions:

1) First, you will use a Google Form to submit your top three choices for rainforest animals you would like to research. You will be assigned one of those three animals.

2) Once Mr. Jobe assigns your animal to you, you will begin to look for information using different sources to answer the questions listed below. Mr. Jobe’s “Rainforest Research” web page is a great place to start.

3) You will need to find information from at least one book and one website.

4) You will use a graphic organizer (a flipbook will be provided) to organize your information as you research.

5) Once you have finished gathering information, you will be given a blank booklet. You will use this booklet to share the information you have found throughout your research on your animal. This will be your final draft and will be what you turn in to Mr. Jobe. It will only be accepted if it is neat, organized, and contains all of the information listed below.

6) You will need to work on your visual aid mostly at home, but you may work on it during research time in class once you finish your booklet.

7) The last step is to submit the final draft of your booklet and then present your booklet and visual aid to our class during a time Mr. Jobe schedules!
