Job Fair/ Rozgar Shivir at Banuti, Shimla

Directorate of Urban Development participated in the two days Job fair event. Director, Urban Development Dr. D. K. Gupta gave the greetings for the success of the event and addressed the gathering about the skill development, employment and self-employmentprograms under DAY-NULM.

The expectation from the event is to highlighting the skill development and entrepreneurship development programmes and to focus on the job oriented skilling programmes which can benefit the unemployed youths of the state along with dissemination of the all government programmes to the public.

Skill Training providers/ Training Institutes empanelled under DAY- NULM also participated at Skill job fair/ Rojgar Shivir and offered various courses to the urban poor those who are eligible for the benefits of the program. IEC activities of the DAY-NULM, were done at the event.

At the event,5 stalls were installed by Directorate of Urban Development for the IEC, presentation, facilitation and enrolment of candidates. 5 Skill Training Partners/ Institutes participated in the event and register the candidates for the program. During the event 369 applicants were registered for the skill training courses on the spot by various Skill Training Providers/Institutes. Those candidates are being mobilized for the skill training and placements by the skill training institutes under DAY-NULM.

Hon’ble Chief Minister Himachal Pradesh Mr. Virbhadra Singh attended the event in the closing session of the first day of the two days event. Hon’ble Chief Minister visited the stalls of the urban development department. Director, Urban Development - HP,welcomed Hon’ble Chief Minister and briefed about the schemes being conducted by the department i.e. Employment Through Skill Training and Placement (ESTP), Self-Employment Program (SEP) for livelihood enhancement of the target group.

Besides this, two stalls of day meals and fast foods were organised by the self-employed women of our Self-Help Groups of MC Shimla formed and provided loans under DAY-NULM scheme. During two days of workshop they earned a handsome amount
