Job Title / CateringAssistant / Reporting to / Catering Manager/Executive Chef
Job Purpose /
  1. To provide a professional, friendly, and efficient service to the catering department’s customers.

Supervising / None / Contract / Full time, Term time only plus one additional week (39 Weeks)Salary Band 2 £13,853 pro rata
Key Responsibilities /
  1. To provide efficient and effective service, understanding the needs and requirements of site users while maintaining excellent customer service.
  2. To prepare, serve, and store food to the required standard of hygiene and best practice.
  3. To store and clean equipment and cutlery to the required standard of hygiene and best practice.
  4. To remove waste to the appropriate designated area.
  5. To transport large hot trolleys to serving areas
  6. To demonstrate a positive, enthusiastic, committed, and flexible attitude towards customers and other colleagues.
  7. To deal with customer concerns, requests and complaints in a helpful and friendly manner to conclusion.
  8. To use powered equipment where necessary, which may include heavy lifting
  9. To undertake and achieve industry recognised Food Hygiene qualification if not already held.
  10. To maintain accurate records as required.
  11. To handle cash or cashless system, if required.
  12. Carry out a range of additional duties that may arise from time-to-time in accordance with the nature of the role and level of responsibility.

  • Minimum of 1 year experience in acatering role.

  • Relevant and up to date experience of catering equipment
  • Knowledge of HACCP
  • Experience working in a catering setting
  • Understanding of safe manual handling practices.
  • Good customer service skills.
  • Good communication skills (written, verbal, or pictorial)
  • Managing own workload
  • Work well under pressure
  • Ability to work alone and as part of a team.
  • Good attention to detail.
