Approval and deletion of ITU-T Recommendations

A.1By TSB AAP-70 of 1 February 2004 it was announced that the following ITU-T Recommendations were approved, in accordance with the procedures outlined in ITU-T Recommendation A.8:

The conditions governing the deletion of these ITU-T Recommendations were met and 15Member States participating in the meeting of Study Group 11 (Geneva, from 1 to 12 September 2003) proposed to delete these ITU-T Recommendations. Fourteen Administrations of Member States responded to the consultation on 24 December 2003, and no objection to this deletion was received.

Maldives
Communication of 22.XII.2003:

The Ministry of Communication, Science and Technology, Male’ announces that under the recent restructuring of the Maldivian telecommunications sector, the Telecommunications Authority of Maldives has been established as a separate entity with a mandate of regulating the telecommunications sector, creating an environment conducive for promoting competition in telecommunication services and developing the sector in accordance with the national policies and relevant regulations. Subsequently, the telecommunication functions of the previous Post and Telecommunications Section of this Ministry was transferred to the new Authority.

The Minister of Communication, Science and Technology now has the role of policy making while the Telecommunications Authority of Maldives will assume the responsibilities of regulating the telecommunications sector.
