The COSY CORNER:

Or if all the activity and hustle of Christmas is just too much why not visit The Ark’s free cosy corner where you can curl up with a cup of hot chocolate, read a book from the mini library and enjoy the special free events which will be taking place (keep updated with events happening in the cosy corner at www.ark.ie)

CREATIVE PUPPET WORKSHOPS:

Each Saturday in December (from 3rd – 17th) Niamh Lawlor and Emma Fisher from Puca Puppets along with their special puppet friend, Mamó Midwinter, will facilitate creative workshops at The Ark. Experience the art of puppet-making as each participant will make their very own rod puppet to take home, before joining Mamó in the performance area to create a winter scene.

PERFROMANCE WORKSHOPS:

Those aged 8 -12 have a unique opportunity to work with writer / director Veronica Coburn in small group theatre workshops in the lovely performance space in The Ark. Aspiring young actors and theatre makers shouldn’t miss this opportunity to join leading Irish practitioner Veronica Coburn for an active introduction to theatrical storytelling and drama. Using The Ark’s gorgeous theatre space, participants will work in groups to tell their own stories through movement, music and lights.

For Toddlers (ages 2-3) theatre maker Helene Hugel will read from a famous American storybook, Helene plays with the question, What if it starts to snow? What do you do? Where do you go? After hearing about the adventures of animals in the snow, your toddler will have fun bringing the story to life through sound, movement and sensory play. This imaginative and active workshop is the perfect way to keep warm on a winter’s day.

Full schedule below.

The Ark gratefully acknowledges the financial support of its principal supporter the Arts Council and also support from the Department of Education & Skills, Temple Bar Cultural Trust and Dublin City Council.
