Office Administrator – Part-time/Working from home

CFA Ireland is a professional body for investment professionals in Ireland. CFA Ireland (“The Society”) is a local chapter of CFA Institute, the global organisation that administers the professional qualification called the CFA Program. CFA Ireland currently has over 300 members and there are approx. 600 candidates going through the CFA Program annually. The Society is directed by a group of volunteers and exists to deliver value to members through continuing professional development (CPD) events and to support candidates through the CFA Program.

The role of Office Administratorwill report directly to the President of the Society and will be the main point of contact for member and candidate queries. The successful candidate will act as a liaison between society members and the CFA committee. The successful candidate will be the sole employee of CFA Ireland and have the following responsibilities:

  • Provide administrative support to the CFA committee, in particular, the roles of President, Treasurer, Sponsorship Chair, and Events Chair.
  • Co-ordinate monthly educational events (approx. 10 per annum) and annual events such as golf outing, awards lunch, student research competition, and panel discussions.
  • Liaise with CFA Institute on matters such as membership applications, marketing, PR etc. The successful candidate will be required to attend one 2-day conference outside of Ireland, once a year, with the option to attend a further 2 conferences at their discretion.
  • Maintain financial recordsand administer the Society’s accounts payable/receivables.
  • Website maintenance (creating events, updating content, etc.)
  • Maintain records of society members, CFA candidates and other society contacts.
  • Produce a bi-annual member newsletter.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Strong organisational and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Be able to work on own initiative.

Home Working Arrangement

The successful candidate will be supplied with a laptop computer, mobile phone, and other IT equipment such as a printer and scanner. The society will cover all office expenses incurred in the course of carrying out society business, including broadband connection fees. The scheduling of the 18.75-hour working week is flexible; however, the successful candidate is required to attend the majority of society events.
