2.  CATALOG DESCRIPTION: Pilates is an activity class that involves a series of exercise

movements. The student performs these movements in a fluid and controlled manner on a floor mat.

3. INSTRUCTIONAL OBJECTIVES (Use measurable outcomes only):

Upon completion of the course the student will be able to:

A. Demonstrate an increase in flexibility. B) Demonstrate increased strength of the abdominal powerhouse.

C. Demonstrate increased muscle control.

D. Demonstrate the proper Pilates breathing technique.

E. Demonstrate the ability to perform a series of pilates moves.

N/A The student will become proficient in the proper pilates mechanics with motion of an activity. For example: The student will have to brace the core abdomen muscles through out all pilates exercises in order to get full benefits from pilates.

cultural attitudes.
