THE LIFE AND MINISTRY OF JESUS
Luke 4:14-20; Matthew 4:23-25
And Jesus returned in the power of the Spirit into Galilee: and there went out a fame of him through all the region round about.
And he taught in their synagogues, being glorified of all.
And he came to Nazareth, where he had been brought up: and, as his custom was, he went into the synagogue on the Sabbath day, and stood up for to read.
And there was delivered unto him the book of the prophet Esaias. And when he had opened the book, he found the place where it was written,
The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the broken-hearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised,
To preach the acceptable year of the Lord.
And he closed the book, and he gave it again to the minister, and sat down. And the eyes of all them that were in the synagogue were fastened on him.
(Luke 4:14-20)
And Jesus went about all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing all manner of sickness and all manner of disease among the people.
And his fame went throughout all Syria: and they brought unto him all sick people that were taken with divers diseases and torments, and those which were possessed with devils, and those which were lunatick, and those that had the palsy; and he healed them.
And there followed him great multitudes of people from Galilee, and from Decapolis, and from Jerusalem, and from Judaea, and from beyond Jordan.
(Matthew 4:23-25)
Chant: Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Ghost as it was in the beginning, is now and ever shall be, world without end. Amen! Amen!

FROM THE PASTOR’S DESK
December 28, 2008
W
e praise and thank the divine Creator of the universe for the life and legacy of Sister Lillian Ann Walker. Sister Walker represented the finest in Christian womanhood and was the living and breathing embodiment of the Proverbs thirty-one woman. The lives of the members of the Friendship family have been marvelously enriched by the presence of Sister Walker in our midst. Devoted choir member, Deaconess, faithful Missionary worker, a seeker of Him in His word, and a dedicated worker in the preparation and serving of the elements of the Communion Service. How this Pastor sees the legacy of Sister Lillian Ann Walker graphically presented in Revelation 14:13: “And I heard a voice from heaven saying unto me, write, Blessed are the dead who die in the Lord from henceforth. Yea, saith the Spirit, that they may rest from their labors, and their works do follow them.” Praise God for the Blessedness of the holy dead! Where the corruptible put on incorruption and the mortal put on immortality and the weary shall be at rest. “And their works do follow them.” Sister Walker set the bar high in her work ethic. She was an extraordinary worker, who indeed loved the Lord and worked as if it was for the Lord and not for men. We would all do well to emulate the life of this dear lady, that we may hear the Master of the universe, the Lord say unto us: “Well done, good and faithful servant.”
Thank God, for the life and blessed legacy of Sister Lillian Ann Walker.
