The Darcy Aston Environmental Advocacy Scholarship
2016/17Application
The Environmental Education Coalition of Napa County (EECNC) connects members of our community with the local environment. Through a network of local organizations, the coalition provides resources and support to promote sustainable living and to cultivate an appreciation of the natural world.
Purpose
This scholarship is to assist a graduating high school student who intends to pursue post-secondary school studies in the natural sciences, including but not limited to the fields of Conservation Biology, Wildlife Biology, Environmental Science, Natural Resource Management, Ecology,sustainable living, energy, waste, or recycling, water, air, policy, agriculture, or similar environmental field.
Eligibility
• Applicant must be a graduating senior at a Napa County public or private high school
• Applicant must indicate the post-secondary educational institution that he/she plans to attend. The scholarship check will be issued in October upon proof of enrollment or registration at that institution.
• Special consideration will be given to students who have participated in volunteer activities related to natural science and/or environmental conservation.
Award
Scholarship of $500 for one year
Application Deadline
Application must be submittedby Monday March 30thtoThe Environmental Education Coalition of Napa County. Applications must bereceived by March 30. No post marks accepted.
Award will be announced and presented at Earth Day Napa in April. Scholarship check will be issued by October, after awardee has shown proof of enrollment and/or classregistration.
