Grant Eligibility
Foundation funds are “directed to uses apart from day to day operations of the church … to enrich the program and mission of the church by supporting projects which would not be possible through other church funding.” Specifically:
- Seed money for new activities and organizations.
- Support for existing programs which have not yet become self-supporting.
- Outreach and wider church programs.
- Education and training expense for fees, tuition, licensing costs and related out-of-pocket expenses for congregation members or staff personnel for theological, educational or training consistent with FPC mission, focus or other stated goals.
- Mission endeavors.
- Support for denominational projects/programs.
- Pilot ventures.
Request Procedure
- Summarize the proposal in as few words as possible, including how it contributes to our church’s ministry. Attach additional information as necessary. Include pertinent information such as: credentials or experience of responsible individuals; product features, sourcing, and price of equipment; details of any contractual work, etc.
- Describe how it qualifies for a foundation grant.
- Forward your request to your FPC Birmingham contact who will schedule the review of your proposal. If you are unsure as to whom to contact simply get in touch with one of the pastors and they will direct you to the correct ministry.
- If you are a 501C3, include a copy of your prior year audited financial statements and your current year income statement and budget.
- If you are a 501C3, your Tax ID will need to be provided upon approval of the grant as it is required for disbursement of funds.
