Short Meeting Held May 8 – Meeting was held and a motion was made on how much to pay Paulette for her continued help. The motion was made by Elizabeth and was seconded by Jennifer. Motion passed.

  1. Cameron gave a report of the previous meets and he and Lomax discussed the upcoming travel meet. Lomax gave a report of last weekend’s Vicksburg meet. We had several swimmers get state times.

  3. Checking - $22,222.45
  4. Savings - $5,669.82
  5. Scholarship - $444.59 – 2 recent scholarship checks ($300 x 2) written
  6. Savings - $5,225.23
  7. Swim School – Payton updated the board on the swim school income
  8. 9 new BAC senior swimmers have been trained to teach lessons
  9. May Income - $9,060
  10. Summer Session A – 79 total lessons! – this includes youth lessons, water babies, adult lessons, and new private lessons
  11. Summer League – 48 swimmers; first meet recently held; biggest summer group ever
  12. Travel meet – water park tickets have been purchased ($680); a van has been reserved plus the Huenefeld’s. Frederic Huenefeld and Suzie Higginbotham will be chaperones. It’s a very fast meet and fast pool.
  13. D&O insurance – We have received 2 quotes. One from a private insurance company and one from USA Swimming. Discussion indicated that the USA Swimming quote was more tailored to our needs. It was the less expensive of the 2 quotes.
  14. Frederic Huenefeld made a motion to accept and proceed with the USA Swimming quote. Kerry Reeder seconded the motion. Motion passed unanimously.
  1. Fundraising -
  2. Restaurant fundraiser – We earned $332! The next fundraisers are 6/13, 7/19, 8/8. These are the same 3 restaurants: CheeburgerCheeburger, Ponchatoula’s, and Log Cabin.
  3. Kids Night at the Lambright – Looking at the first week of August. Payton will check on specific dates.
  4. Additional ideas – Kerry gave an update on 5K. He spoke to a lady who had run one and with sponsors and having a group come in to do timing/bibs/finish line they made $8000. Also the idea of a dance was discussed again. No decisions made at this time.
  5. Payton asked about USA Swimming Background check reimbursement to chaperones? Website referred to officials only. Discussion on how to reimburse those who pay for certification. Should they be required to work a certain number of hours? Payton will check with Judy Ramirez with Louisiana Swimming.
  6. A question was raised about providing our full account statements on board agendas. Does all that information need to be printed and distributed? Because we are a nonprofit our financials are public record anyway. After discussion it was decided to not print/distribute the detailed account records but they would be available to anyone who requests it.

  2. Filming Session at Centenary – Senior Blue group only - $20 per swimmer to Centenary swimming – currently have 4 swimmers committed. This really helps swimmers because it is visual help. They may go to lunch after and have a classroom session afterwards. Cameron may take Red group later.
  3. Frederic brought up possibly looking at purchasing this filming equipment in the future. Cameron will look into cost.

  2. Scoreboard Advertisements – not having luck selling those.
  3. Kids Triathlon was a success at Lincoln Parish Park.
