Damming the World’s Rivers
The following is a list of some of the world’s major rivers. You will research each river and the effects that damming has had on these rivers. Most of these rivers are dammed at many places.
You and a partner will prepare a pamphlet about one of the rivers. You must include:
· Where the river is located and countries it flows through with a map
· One dam found on the river and how large it is (in terms of World’s Largest Dams).
· Economic benefits of damming (in general, not the one dam) on the river
· Ecological benefits of damming on the river
· Social benefits of damming on the river
· Economic disadvantages of damming on the river
· Ecological disadvantages of damming on the river
· Social disadvantages of damming on the river
· Political issues associated with water use of your river
· Needs to have at least 4 pictures related to the above
You will be graded on the accuracy of the above information as well as the creativity and neatness of your pamphlet.
