OVERVIEW

Title: Choose a working title for your session. It should be short, descriptive and engaging.

Elevator pitch: If you wanted to get someone interested in your session during an elevator ride, what would you say? You have 50 words.

Description: If your title and pitch convinced someone that they might want to attend your session, what would they need to know to make an informed decision? You have 300 words.

Format: In one or two sentences, tell us what your session might look like as it plays out. Remember that the Steering Committee expressly encourages you to select one of the suggested non-traditional session formats listed and may make acceptance of your session conditional on adjustments to the format. You have 300 words.

Justification and target audience: Why will this session be a valuable contribution to CEC17?

Please be concise. If you think the session will be particularly useful to certain kinds of audience members, here’s where to mention that (although it is by no means a requirement). You have 300 words.

Output: For our information, do you intend the session to produce any “outputs”? This is not a requirement for being accepted, but short outputs may be candidates for inclusion in the CEC17 conference report.

SPECIFICS

Time: What is the shortest amount of time you need to make your session work? Sessions will run in parallel with a default length of 60 minutes, but one session can span more than one slot (e.g., one session might occupy a 60 minute slot in the morning and a 60 minute slot in the afternoon) or even more than one day (e.g. a 60 minute slot on Tuesday and another 60 minute slot on Thursday).

Breakdown: How will that time be used? Like format (and everything else), this may be subject to adjustment.

Presenters: Do you have any presenters confirmed? Who might you like to approach?

Requirements: What substantive or administrative assistance will you need from CEC17 in order to make your panel a success?
