Trip Information for Sharptop Cove 2017 - July 15th – 23rd
Travel Information: The group will be safely transported on professionally driven, charter buses.
Leave: Saturday July 15thArrive at 10:30. Bus leaves at11:00pmfrom Geneva High School
Return: Sunday July 23rdatapproximately 8:00a.m.at Geneva High School.
We will confirm/adjust departure time in late June or early July.
What To Bring: Young Life provides all bedding, sheets, and towels (bring a beach towel since you’ll be in the water often). You’ll wanta sweatshirt/rain jacketfor the cooler evenings and gym shoes for actitvities. Also sun screen, a swimsuit, two set of clothes/shoes that can get very dirty and be thrown out. Bring T-shirts, jeans, shorts, toiletries, and a garbage bag to pack dirty/wet clothes. Additionally, pack a flannel and bandana if you have one and something red, white, and blue.
Luggage & Spending money: Put your name on all your luggage. Pillows for the bus are nice. There are 2meal stops each way to camp and Sharptop has stores where you can buy snacks, t-shirts, etc. These are the only additional expenses so we recommend no more than $50, unless you plan to drink tons of milkshakes!
IPods & Cell Phones: Young Life camp offers kids many unique and memorable experiences. To ensure each campers has a quality experience that is different from anything they’ve experienced before, we ask them to set distractions from cell phones/electronics aside for the week. We will collect cell phones/electronics upon our arrival at camp where they will be locked away in the camp office and returned when we depart. Rest assured that you’ll be able to get in touch with your children while at camp. You can call the camp directly and our trip leader Jessie LaBelle will be accessible at times through her phone as well.
Health Forms: Need to be completed onlineClick Here! (Or go to kanecounty.younglife.org and click on camp information) You will be directed to create an account. Final Payment: The final payment for the camp trip will also be due by July 1st. Please contact me at any time for an update on your child’s fundraising progress and remaining balance (). Checks can be made out to Young Life and mailed to the office.
Communication: Contact Jessie LaBelle with all questions prior to our departure. Kids will have access to payphones/leaders phones to call home while at camp.

Final Note: Sometimes people think it necessary to bring drugs and alcohol to camp in order to have a “good time.” Obviously, these are not permitted at the camp. If individuals are found using these or they are found on an individual, they will be sent home at their own expense--no exceptions.
