  1. Welcome to PPG Members

Wendy McDonagh opened the meeting and welcomed all participants to the first meeting of the Davyhulme Medical Centre PPG for 2016 and apologised for the length of time since last meeting.

  1. Patient Survey

There is possible opportunity to take part in patient survey that would pay £500 for surveying 50 patients of DMC. PPG agreed to assist with part of the survey. NJ suggested PPG could decide how £500 could be spent to improve patient experience whilst at the surgery.

Action – WM to find out if survey is still available to subscribe to.

  1. EMIS

Discussion re. challenges faced transferring over from current clinical system to EMIS Web on 20 April. PPG members agreed to trial on-line services for medical history access, prior to launching for wider patient population.

Action – WM to contact PPG near to go live date for them to complete new on-line registration forms

  1. Recruiting New PPG Members

It was acknowledged that there had been a drop off of members. It was agreed to make PPG details more prominent on website and try to promote where possible.

Action – WM to speak to web team.

  1. Charity Fete

PPG members informed of charity fete to be held on Saturday 18 June. Time to be confirmed. PPG member keen to help with anything on the day. It was suggested that a possible health check tent might be an opportunity to capture patients that would not normally attend surgery. To be discussed by Fete action team.

Action – WM to discuss with Fete team.

  1. AOB

Broadband – PPG thought it would be a good idea for the Practice to publicise availability of broadband in the waiting room for patients to use whilst waiting for the GP. Ian Young to check what security issues have to be addressed before looking at this in more detail.

Further meetings – agreed every 3 months as previously.
