CSA Scoring Procedure - Three Timers Per Lane

The scoring table includes: Admin Organizer (Home); Time Evaluator (Visitor); Time Verifier (Home); Computer Operator (Home); Ribbon Preparers (Home + Visitor)

  1. One TIMER records all three times on the swimmer’s card, and circles the middle time – ignoring the high and low times. For duplicate times, that is the one circled.
  2. The RUNNER gathers timer sheets, and from the referee – signed DQ slips and Order of Finish, stacks timer sheets in lane order and delivers them to the scoring table.
  3. TheTime Evaluator and Admin Organizer label DQs on timer sheets, staple the slips to the pertinent lane sheet and pass all the paperwork to the Time Verifier who reads them for the Computer Operator. Alternatively, the Home team may decide to have the Computer Operator keyall times in MM and have the software calculate final times (Calc.) No time is recorded in the system for a DQ.
  4. An admin volunteer reads times to the Data Entry Operator and results are updated for scored events.

Additional Volunteer to Average Times

  1. One TIMER records both times on the lane time sheet
  2. The RUNNER gathers timer sheets, and from the referee – signed DQ slips and Order of Finish, stacks timer sheets in lane order and delivers them to the scoring table.
  3. The AVERAGER averages the two times on each lane in each heat. The Time Evaluator and Admin Organizer label DQs on timer sheets, staple the slips to the pertinent lane sheet and pass all the paperwork to the Time Verifier who reads them for the Computer Operator. Alternatively, the Home team may decide to have the Computer Operator key both times in MM software and have the software calculate the final times (Calc.) No time is recorded in the system for a DQ.
  4. An admin volunteer reads average times (or both times so MM calculates the average) to the Data Entry Operator and results are updated for scored events.

Ribbon Preparer

Each team provides one volunteer. The Home team provides all ribbons and each team provides their own computer labels. Periodically throughout the meet, the computer operator will print labels by team. Ribbons are awarded for 1st through 10th place. Each team either affixes their labels on specified place ribbons or gathers the requisite ribbons for later completion. Note: The top six places always go to the fastest six times. Because only three (or two) swimmers from each team can score, place ribbons may not coincide with scoring swimmers.

All hard copy materials from dual meets shall be retained throughout the season.
