No adult or child with an untreated communicable disease shall be at work.
Children’s special needs are posted, allergies, dietary, etc., under cover and marked confidential.
Emergency forms are complete and located near the phone (In classroom and on bus). Emergency number on cordless phones.
Emergency telephone numbers are clearly posted.
Emergency plans and basic First Aid postings are up-to-date and clearly visible.
Appropriate licenses (fire, food/sanitation, etc.) are visibly posted where they can be clearly seen.
Exits and/or evacuation routes are clearly marked.
The facility has approved, working fire extinguishers and an appropriate number of smoke detectors and/or fire system which are tested and/or serviced regularly.
Smoke detectors are checked monthly.
Flammable and other dangerous materials/poisons are stored in locked cabinets or facilities separate from medications and food and are accessible only to authorized persons.
Staffing patterns support regulations regarding class size and number of adults per class.
Rooms are well lighted.
Toys are stored in a safe and orderly fashion, not out where people can trip over them.
All medications for children are properly labeled with name of child, name of medication, dosage, name of pharmacy/physician.
Medications in need of refrigeration are refrigerated.
Medications, including adult medications, are under lock and key and out of reach of children.
Health and Safety checklists from teaching teams and cook have been reviewed. Items needing to be logged on Form 3-43 have been transferred and a plan developed to correct.
Playground bark chips have been fluffed and checked for the proper depth to meet National Playground Safety Standards.
STAR Seats on buses are checked for wear & tear 3X/year (September / January / April) and replaced if needed.
