YBS’s Madrich Education Checklist (MEC)

The madrich is an important staff member of the Yeshiva. He sets the pace and atmosphere of the school day. He is a leader who encourages the students to follow the Yeshiva rules, regulations, and time schedules. The madrich sometimes puts aside personal desires and friendships to do his job as required. He is the role model and example of how the students perform. The madrich’s job and responsibilities are valued and appreciated.

1.  Waking the students up in the morning

2.  Assisting the students with their MAC’s before davening

3.  Walking the students to shul/davening and back to the dorm

4.  Making sure the students are davening quietly and properly

5.  Making sure all students have breakfast

6.  Helping the students complete their MAC’s after davening

7.  Making sure the students are dressed properly and groomed

8.  Inspecting the students room to make sure their room is neat, clean and their bed is made properly

9.  Overseeing the classroom for learning by setting the table, chairs, blackboard, etc…

10. Students need to be on time for all classes

11. Communicating to Reuven before the AM class all important updates/concerns/issues of the students

12. Preparing sign in sheet for teachers

13. Providing all students with snack during break time

14. Making sure students have lunch at meal time

15. Assisting the students for shopping

16. Making sure the students have dinner

17. Prepare the students for the night activities and help them get ready

18. Assist the night madrich in the implementation of the night activity

19. Make sure the students complete EAC’s and assist if needed

20. Make sure the students are in their night time pajamas - clothes

21. Check on the students that they are in bed and ready for sleep

22. If there are things broken or out of service, contact Adam

23. If there is an emergency call Reuven/Rabbi Meir immediately
