Missions Corner
Carol Wood – Many of you may remember her from Camp 2006. She recently returned to Kenya where she will continue ministering to women in crisis as well as encouraging those in the local church. Please keep her in your prayers.
Dougg & LeAnn Custer – The youth4youth outreach in Austria has seen great growth and they are rejoicing that many are coming to know Jesus and are sharing their faith with their friends. / Spring Rally Information
This year, Spring Rally will be held at Camp Elkanah. We have the opportunity to arrive at Rally the night before and have a mini-retreat☺. The cost is $10 a person plus a side dish and dessert per car. If you are staying overnight, there is an additional $5 per person to cover the cost of the camp.
We will hold the sessions in the chapel this year and that means we will be sitting on the folding chairs. For your comfort may we suggest that you bring a pillow or blanket to sit on or even your own camp chair?
We also need a group or two of ladies who are willing to help with the clean up after camp. If interested, please get in touch with one of the Committee Members. Thank you for your help.
Watch the March Newsletter for additional information including pre-registration instructions.
Camp Truck Update
Great news! A truck was donated to Camp Elkanah and is in great condition. They sold the old truck for $500 and received an additional donation for $1,000. With this money, they are able to add the necessary equipment for snow removal. Praise the Lord for His wonderful provisions!!!
Prayer is asking for rain and faith is carrying an umbrella
Camp Project
This last year, we raised a total of $511 for the Bathroom Renovation Project. They have enough money to replace the roof and purchase new fixtures (i.e., toilets and shower heads). They are also seeking advice for new bathrooms. If they chose to pursue this, they will have plans drawn up and then will send out the drawings to the churches for their input. We will keep you posted on their progress.
Paradoxes of Prayer
I asked God for strength, that I might achieve.
I was made weak, that I might learn humbly to obey…
I asked for health, that I might do greater things.
I was given infirmity, that I might do better things…
I asked for riches that I might be happy.
I was given poverty that I might be wise…
I asked for power, that I might have the praise of men.
I was given weakness, that I might feel the need of God…
I asked for all things, that I might enjoy life.
I was given life, that I might enjoy all things…
I got nothing that I asked for—but everything I had hoped for.
Almost despite myself, my unspoken prayers were answered—
I am among all, most richly blessed!
