CNIPM Board Meeting August 4, 2010
Attendance
Gino Graziano
Jeff Mason
Phil Kaspari
Brett Nelson
Michelle Hebert (non board member)
- Gino not yet heard back from Laura Harrelson on toadflax presentation for the conference (prob in the field).
- Gino heard from Steve Peterson w/ Interior Alaska Beekeepers Association (IABA). Their talk will be on flower species contributing to Interior AK honey production (based on pollen analysis in honey) as well as herbicide impacts to honey bees. The IABA also questions the impacts that invasive weeds are having on AK ecology, economy while the IABA realizes the value that invasives, esp sweetclover, have on honey production in AK.
- Gino suggested following that talk up w/ a talk on impacts of sweetclover poss by Jeff Conn or Steve Seefeldt while Michelle suggested following it up w/ a panel discussion. Gino will send a request for suggestions to the Board on this topic.
- Gino is working on getting a keynote speaker for the conference.
- Michelle can get a room for the keynote speaker for the public presentation (Monday 25 Oct) in her office building, the “Upark building”.
