I, the undersigned resident(s), do hereby confirm that the following regarding the smoke detectors in the above apartment:

1.  All smoke detectors are operable at the time of move in.

2.  I understand the following regarding the testing and maintenance of the smoke detectors:

  1. BATTERY REPLACEMENT (if applicable): A fresh battery is in the smoke detectors at move-in. If a battery becomes weak, it will give a short beep every minute of so. It is my responsibility to replace the battery as needed. If I am unsure of the size of the battery needed, I will call the manager.
  2. SMOKE DETECTOR TEST: Push button on the smoke detector to hear alarm. Test should be made once each week.

3.  I understand that I shall not disconnect, remove the smoke detectors, or leave the smoke detector without a battery for any length of time. I further understand that I shall notify the manager in writing immediately of any deficiencies in the smoke detector.
