Step 1
In this step, you will review the concept and effective practices of online and hybrid teaching, the ATS-recommended tools for content and assessment creation, the copyright and accessibility resources, and the concept of course redesign.
Take your time to review these content carefully. Write down any questions you may have along the way.
Once you’re ready, make an appointment with your assigned Instructional Designer to proceed to Step 2. / Part A

Step 2
In this step, you will work closely with your ID to create, revise and finalize a course design draft.
The course design draft will focus on your measurable learning outcomes, the alignment between the learning outcomes and your content assessments, appropriate tools for content and assessments, and how you would organize your modules. Your ID will work with you and provide recommendation and feedback to assist you along the way. / Part A
□Meet with your assigned Instructional Designer (ID) to discuss your notes, measurable Learning Outcomes, and Course Design draft.
Part B
□Revise Course Design and apply ID feedback. Communicate with ID via e-mail until the Course Design is finalized.
This Course Design draft should include:
  • Alignment
  • Learning Outcomes
  • Appropriate Tools
  • Breakdown of the Modules (Pacing Guide)
□Email BeachBoard Administrator (Hieu Vu) and request development shell (optional) / 2 hours
2-3 weeks
Step 3
In this step, you will begin building your activities, assessments, and content. You will also organize and build your learning modules, and to begin drafting your student feedback of instruction.
Your ID will assist you to create a timeline for your course development, and provide feedback and recommendation as you build one complete module. / Part A

Part B
□Meet with your ID to create a timeline forcourse development
□Schedule with ID for tool training (if needed)
Part C
□Build one module of the course (including content, activities, and assessments)
□ID will review and provide feedback via e-mail.
□Apply ID recommendations until the module is aligned, measurable, and satisfactory. / 1 week

Step 4
In this step, you will begin creating and revising your syllabus, welcome letter, BeachBoard home page, and the course navigation.
Your ID will assist you as you build the course, and provide you with feedback and recommendation. / Part A
