An on-line search tool The Catalogue des bibliothèques du Québec makes it possible to identify a document that Bibliothèque et Archives nationales du Québec (BAnQ) has in its collections and automatically generate an ILL request form.

The search allows you to precisely identify the requested document and automatically complete the ILL form.

5. How to track a request
Requests can be tracked by email in Generic Script (GS) format. GS is a communication protocol used by Canadian libraries for interlibrary loan (ILL) requests. GS is managed by the Interlibrary Loan Application Standards Maintenance Agency of Library and Archives Canada. It was created so that ILL services could communicate with each other in the following situations:
· ILL requests· replies to ILL requests
· renewal requests
· replies to renewal requests
· general messages / · shipped messages
· overdue notices
· cancellation requests
· replies to cancellation requests

6. How to ask that a request be cancelled
When you click on "Cancel", a cancel request is sent to BAnQ's ILL service. The staff checks on the progress of the loan request before authorizing the cancellation. If the loan request has progressed too far―if it has reached the Shipped stage, for instance―the cancellation request will be denied.
7. How to sign out
In the menu at the left of the screen, click on "Sign Out" to exit the system securely.
