English Language Supplement

Dear Advisor,

YMUN has reached its forty-second session! As always, we strive to improve the collective committee and delegate experience. To this end, it is our firm belief that English proficiency is essential for delegates wishing to attend our conference - delegates in the past who were not sufficiently proficient in English are unable to learn and gain as much from the experience as other proficient students.

It is YMUN policy that each delegate attending an international school that does not meet at least one of the following criteria must submit the English Supplement:

-Is located in a country whose official language is English

-Is an IB World School that currently offers the IB Diploma Program

-Is listed as a U.S. Department of State-Affiliated School

-Is an American or British School accredited by the appropriate bodies, such as NWAIS and SACS

If you believe your delegation qualifies for exemption, but has incorrectly received this document, please contact me at . Please note, however, that YMUN reserves the right to decide whether a school is exempt from submitting the English Supplement. All decisions that are made subsequent to submission are final.

Please distribute the attached forms to all the students in your delegation. Once you have received the appropriate documents completed by all students, please fill out the English Language Supplement Cover Letter (one per delegation to be completed by the main advisor), and forward the documents in electronic/scanned form to . For online submissions, the Cover Letter can be completed here and the delegate supplement is available here.

Please be advised that all documentation must be received by November 2nd2015. YMUN will review each of the supplements and subsequently issue a list of students who demonstrate sufficient English capabilities. Incomplete or partially completed supplements will not be processed.

Furthermore, YMUN abides to the highest standards of academic integrity and therefore adopts the same policies and procedures concerning academic integrity as Yale University. At Yale, plagiarismis a breach of academic dishonesty and defined as taking possession of another person's work without properly citing the original source. No plagiarism will be tolerated at all in any supplements and is grounds for automatic rejection.

We advise submitting the English Language Supplement as soon as possible to avoid complications in requesting visa letters and making travel arrangements. Students who are not accepted will receive a full refund on their delegate fee. If no students are accepted from a registered delegation, all delegation, advisor and delegate fees will be refunded. No other refunds will be issued, unless otherwise granted by the Secretary-General.

If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to email me at .

Thank you very much.

Sincerely,

Katie Yoonyoung Choi

Under-Secretary-General of International Delegations
