LOGLINE:

Maggie (Christine Lakin) has her pristine Christmas holiday hijacked when her sexually liberated mother (Sharon Lawrence) brings her new boyfriend home to meet the family.

SYNOPSIS:

Maggie is perfectly fine that her newly single mother, Alice, has started dating again. A lot. In front of her. And in front of her two small children. But when Alice decides to spring her latest boy-toy on the family one Christmas morning, Maggie's most wonderful time of the year turns into her worst nightmare, and she's left to wonder: who is the mother here? Somebody's Mother is the story of one perfect woman's journey toward accepting her perfectly dysfunctional family.

DIRECTOR BIOGRAPHY – Mandy Fabian

After graduating with a film degree from Vassar, Mandy set up shop in New York City, writing the well-received film Tour of Pain (Santa Fe Film Festival, Brooklyn Film Festival) & sketch comedy show "The Mecky Stecky Show" while also performing and writing with the comedy group The Pocket Subversives, the Upright Citizens Brigade, and co-founding the Noumenon Theatre Company.

In Los Angeles, Mandy enjoyed a successful run of her acclaimed one-woman show, "Kicked in the Head," while writing and producing two albums of comedy music, and directing multiple viral videos on YouTube, including “Liberal's Just Another Word” and "I Love The Gays."

Currently, in addition to writing the series "Dropping the Soap" (executive produced by Jane Lynch, Lisa Kudrow, Dan Bucatinsky & Don Roos), her short film, “Killing Vivian,” which she wrote and directed, earned her “Top Female Filmmaker” at the Chicago Comedy Film Festival. Her next short film, "Somebody's Mother," was completed April 2014 and is an official selection of the Palm Springs International Short Fest. She is currently developing a pilot with Is or Isn't Entertainment and is a Story Editor on Showtime's “Web Therapy.”
