NYS Division of Homeland Security and Emergency Services (DHSES)

FY2010 UASI

Local Application Worksheet

Instructions:

This separate “Local Application Worksheet” is required to be submitted (as an attachment in E-Grants) as part of your FY2010 UASI application to DHSES.

In a change from previous applications, we have removed the “narrative” questions asked in previous years in E-Grants and put them here – in a separate “Word” document. The intent is that it is easier to share and work on answers to these questions in this format, rather than in E-Grants. Additional application requirements i.e. the Workplan and Budget are still required to be completed in E-Grants.

If you wish to provide supplemental charts and/or tables to answer any of the questions in this worksheet, please provide them as a separate attachment(s) within E-Grants. Slides 50-53 of the E-Grants User’s Tutorial has information on how to attach this worksheet or any other attachments in E-Grants.

  1. Capability Enhancement

A: Capability Enhancement –It is important for DHSES to understand how you areusing homeland security funds to build your capabilities. For each Objective in your Workplan in E-Grants, grantees should provide a brief explanation of how this project will enhance your jurisdiction’s homeland security capabilities. Furthermore, grantees should consider indicating specific measurable outcomes, if appropriate, to demonstrate the development of capabilities in your jurisdiction. (Please reference the DHS Target Capability List (TCL) for detailed metrics to help measure capability development for each of the 37 target capabilities:

Approximately how much of your total current budget for FY2010 UASI funds are you using to sustain previously-implemented projects?
  1. Exercises

A: Exercise Profile- Exercises are an important tool that can be used to test your jurisdiction’s capabilities and to highlight areas for improvement. In the “Exercise Description” workspace below, please provide a brief description of each Exercise you intend to fund with FY2010 UASI funds, what jurisdictions and disciplines will be involved, what capabilities will be tested, and a general timeframe for the completion of the Exercise.
