With All Deceivableness of Unrighteousness

With all Deceivableness of Unrighteousness

In Psalms 9:7-9 it says that God will judge the world in righteousness and will minister judgment in uprightness (exact conformity to the truth.) In Isaiah 45:12-23 it says that the word has gone out of the mouth of the Lord in righteousness and He will raise us up in righteousness. God’s righteousness defines his character and His way. He created man in such a way that man would have to abide with God in relationship in order to be complete. Our well being and freedom from condemnation (salvation) comes when we receive God’s provision for us. He provides our righteousness.

Many Christians are not experiencing the freedom that salvation brings. Instead they are filled with condemnation. It is because they are being deceived with unrighteousness.

2Thessalonians 2:10 And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness (rejection of divine law) in them that perish (to be injured or tormented) because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved.

The enemy, Satan, comes in as an angel of light. He presents us with a distorted form of truth that causes us to become self centered rather than God centered. It sounds good because we want to be pleasing to God. He causes us to focus on the elements of the law or on our unrighteousness rather than the righteousness that God has provided us with.

2Corinthians 11:14 And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light.

2Corinthians 11:15 Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works.

It is a failure formula because according to the law, no one can be justified. It causes man to walk in condemnation and to expect God to respond with judgment and wrath. For the most part, religion has been deceived with unrighteousness. It has become the theme of Christianity.

Romans 10:1 Brethren, my heart's desire and prayer to God for Israel is, that they might be saved.

Romans 10:2 For I bear them record that they have a zeal of God, but not according to knowledge.

Romans 10:3 For they being ignorant of God's righteousness, and going about to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted themselves unto the righteousness of God.

We submit to the righteousness of God by agreeing with Him that we are righteous because Jesus made us righteous. If the focus of our Christian walk is not on what Jesus has provided for us, sin begins to take dominion over us. We become sin conscious rather than God conscious. We begin to focus on all of our faults and weaknesses and become ‘instruments of unrighteousness.”

Romans 6:13 Neither yield ye your members as instruments of unrighteousness unto sin: but yield yourselves unto God, as those that are alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness unto God.

Romans 6:14 For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace.

The theme of the gospel is salvation. God’s plan for man is to deliver him from the bondage of sin. He does this by providing what we cannot provide for ourselves-righteousness!

1Thessalonians 5:9 For God hath not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ,

Our faith becomes stronger by becoming conscious of the power of God within us.

Philemon 1:6 That the communication of thy faith may become effectual by the acknowledging of every good thing which is in you in Christ Jesus.

When we try to focus on our unrighteousness, we become weak and become separated from the true source of our power.

Heb 12:2 Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.
