LA Blues

By Uncle Ernie

Well you wake up in the morning, got those LA blues again.

Said you wake up in the morning, with those LA blues again.

Since I lost my women. I ain't even got a friend.

She left me on a Monday, didn't even say good-bye.

Said she left me on a Monday, didn't even say good-bye.

Now I'm so dog gone lonely, all I do is sit and cry.

Now if your baby leaves you, ain't but one thing you can do.

Said if your mama leaves you, ain't but one thing you can do.

Go out and find another, one who's gonna love you true.

Said I wake up in the morning, with those LA blues again.

Well I wake up in the morning, got those LA blues again.

Now since my baby left me, I ain't even got a friend.

Sausalito

By Uncle Ernie

Wish I was back in California,

Away from this Michigan snow and ice.

Back where I'd be simple and free.

Away from this Michigan winter life.

Wish I was home in Sausalito,

Laying with my lady by the bay.

Back where we'd be simple and free

and there we'd live and love the livelong day.

If I get back to California,

I'm going to stay there Lord and never more roam.

Back where we'd be, happy and free,

there in our California home.

Wish I was back in California.

Away from this Michigan snow and ice.

Back where I'd be simple and free.

Away from this Michigan winter life.

As you know I wrote L.A. Blues in L.A.. Sausalito was written in 1981, in a snow storm in central Michigan, with a wind chill of 70 below zero in a trailer, with no heat. As you can see the insanity took a long time to leave but I'm all better now!

The Actor of Music

By Mel Brown

I was the happy happy clown, who wiped away your frown.

The actor of music.

They told be to beware, said you didn't care,

for the actor of music.

They've been wrong so long this time. Cause the stage is part of my mind,

for the happy happy clown who wiped away your frown.

I was at the heights, had my name in lights.

The actor of music.

Kings I would toast and Queens I would host.

The actor of music

They've been wrong so long this time. Cause the stage is part of my mind,

for the happy happy clown who wiped away your frown.

It was such a fright, to see my name in lights.

The actor of music.

But a thousand frowns, would never bring me down.

The actor of music.

They've been wrong so long this time. Cause the stage is part of my mind.

Of the happy happy clown who wiped away your frown.

I was the happy happy clown, who wiped away your frown.

The actor of music.

Just wanna be, just wanna be, just wanna be, just wanna be, just wanna be,

The actor of music.

Hollywood Nights

By Bob Seger

She stood there bright as the sun on the California coast.

He was a midwestern boy on his own.

She looked at him with those soft eyes so innocent and blue.

He knew right then he was too far from home.

He was too far from home.

She took his hand and she led him along that golden beach.

They watched the waves tumble over the sand.

They drove for miles and miles up those twisting turning roads.

Higher and higher and higher they climbed.

And those Hollywood nights, in those Hollywood hills.

She was looking so right, in her diamonds and frills.

Oh those big city nights, in those high rolling hills.

Above all the lights, she had all of her skills.

He'd headed west cause he felt that a change would do him good.

See some old friends, good for the soul.

She had been born with a face that would let her get away.

He saw that face and he lost all control.

He had lost all control.

Night after night day after day it went on and on.

Then came that morning he woke up alone.

He spent the night staring down at the lights of LA.

Wondering if he could ever go home.

And those Hollywood nights, in those Hollywood hills.

It was looking so right, it was giving him chills.

In those big city nights, in those high rolling hills.

Above all those lights with the passion that kills.

In those Hollywood nights, in those Hollywood hills.

She was looking so right, in her diamonds and frills.

Oh those big city nights, in those high rolling hills.

Above all the lights she had all of her skills.
