SPORTS SPECTACULAR

Its 3:20 pm –get the kids out of the school chairs! This fun activity, a continuation of last year’s popular Kindersports, is now for Kindergarten thru second grade. Includes phys ed type games, relays, and sports and lots of GO GO GO. One hour of non-stop movement presented by Overtime Athletics

IMAGINATION STAGE

All class times are 3:20-4:30

Kindergarten-first grade: Creative Drama: MagicTreeHouse adventures

Students use their bodies, voices and imaginations to explore the popular stories. Creative expression, and the promotion of confidence using active listening and sharing skills. Dramatic play at its best!

First-3rd Grade: Creative Drama: Create a Character.

Students work on developing characters within the context of a familiar story. Students are encouraged to make physical and vocal choices, to develop simple character biographies and are introduced to the concept of motivation while learning to work in an ensemble, communicate ideas and take direction

Tuesdays Classroom $145

Grades 3-5: Dance: Hip Hop. Students learn hip-hop skills including isolation, floor work and breakdancing

CERAMICS

Our newest addition! A fabulous local artist and ceramics teacher will provide instruction in pinch, coil and slab construction, plus surface decorating and glazing, for students to create vessel- and slab-ceramics projects in time for December gift-giving.

CHESS CLUB

Back by popular demand, Victor Sherman will have those rooks and pawns jumping to check mate. Three 11-week sessions; limited to 2nd-5th graders, or by permission of the instructor. Register for one session or all three. $110 for each session, $300 for 3

NATURE CLUB

Come join Echoes Of Nature for Nature Club! Many of the programs have a live animal ambassador that comes out for the topic of the week. All programs have activities, games and crafts that relate to that day’s topic. Please wear appropriate clothes and shoes as we try to go outside when possible.*Nature Club will likely run 3 sessions with new topics, different animal ambassadors, different craft and activities for each session. SCRABBLE CLUB

A new club for 2010-2011! PTA afterschool activities coordinator Cindy Share will lead First through Fifth gradersin a weekly meeting for Scrabble enthusiasts and those brand new to the game. “With my own kids (who started playing Scrabble at age 5) I have seen the tremendous learning potential of the game,” says Cindy. “While the kids love to play, you’d be amazed at the discussion topics a game of Scrabble leads to: spelling accuracy, vocabulary building, word usage and meanings, addition and multiplication math facts, dictionary skills and much more!”
