Weekly Meetings

  • Need to Rock! Incorporate music, multimedia, calisthenics
  • Recognitions at each meeting
  • Rotary Tidbit of the Week
  • Look At Rotary Site: Each Month has a theme
  • Possibly allow more time for speakers
  • Do a number of off-sites
  • Story Book Facility?
  • Have Club Assembly each Quarter:
  • Have Committee Chairs, Foundation Chairs, Asst. DG, PDG, etc do trainings.

Goals:

  • Better awareness of Rotary in the community
  • Health Projects
  • A community project with Impact
  • Share the projects we have done within the club. Any PR we get, show members at weekly meetings
  • Improve member education and development
  • Video Packet
  • Get them to select committee
  • Mentoring
  • Sponsor an Interact Club
  • Increase attendance at District Events

Newsletter:

  • Update the look, get it out on e-mail. Appoint co-editor.
  • Weekly or monthly Presidential column

Committees:

  • Committee Chairs send “minutes” within a week of the breakout
  • Mandatory report either e-mailed or delivered personally at Board Meeting
  • Committee to fill out awards book overview sheet for each project completed
  • Chairs to name Co-Chairs: Use newer members to groom them

Club PR and Communications:

  • Form a PR / Marketing Committee
  • Use RI tools: RVM, PSA ads, etc to create TOM awareness.
  • Invite all local media personnel as guests
  • Web Site
  • Posting New Member Information
  • Board and Committee minutes posted in members only section
  • Investigate Facebook and Twitter, other means of communication

Fellowship:

  • More Family Involvement
  • Appeal towards younger crowd
  • Savvy Fridays

Membership

  • Policy enacted: Any member misses 2 meetings in a row: Gets a call from member liaison or me.
  • “Shoulder to Shoulder” Program
  • Member Satisfaction Survey in April
  • Delineate responsibilities and financial commitments, leave of absence policy
  • “Rotary Rocks” membership night.

Club Administration

  • Executive Committee Retreat: Club Leadership Plan
  • Sunshine Chair: Barbara Bonilla as point for f/u with members who are sick, etc

Board Meetings

  • Minutes e-mailed to Members within a week of meeting so follow up can be done in a timely fashion

Meeting Facility:

  • Approach directors of Sequoia Club: Can we volunteer to do a spruce-up?
  • Flat Panel TV, or pull-down screen
  • Assemble items needed for AV: Extension cords, projection tables, etc.
  • Reserved Parking for Speakers
  • Sandwich Board sign or Flag / Rotary Wheel for meetings to mark club site
