Week 18 Newsletter: Grade 3
This Week (June 12th– June 16th)
Grade 3 students have started making their own maps of their community. Students were given a list of expectations for their map such as, work places, street names, adding detail to their work, key, compass, and giving directions. Students have been working hard to add more detail and focus how much effort to give while working. Students are learning what a map looks like and the different features. Some students have rushed completing their work, which results not showing their understanding and motivation. We encourage students to keep working hard on their projects.
With the exam coming up, student has been working hard to review for the exam. We encourage students to keep practicing at home and to complete homework at home. Furthermore, parents are encouraged to help their child study by practicing the social conventions, talking about the community and reviewing past units about weather and seasons.
Next Week (June 19th – June 23rd)
Next week, students will be taking their last exam for the semester! Students will be continuing their culminating tasks on community. The classes will also be doing more hands on activities about the community workers, directions, and work places. Students are encouraged to think more about other people in the community and what they contribute to society.

光仁小學ESL雙語班週報-三年級
第二學期第十八週
本週(6/12-6/16)
三年級的學生開始製作屬於自己的社區地圖,學生們依照列表中的項目來完成自己的地圖,其中有:工作地點、路名、增加地圖的細節、圖示、指南針及給予方向。學生們花了很多心思在增加地圖上的細節,製作地圖時也同樣專注於工作上。學生們在學習一個地圖該有的樣子及不同的功能。部分的學生著急地想要完成他們的地圖,結果卻沒有顯示出他們的理解與動機。我們鼓勵學生持續努力在學習單上。
大考即將到來,學生們已經開始努力複習考試。我們鼓勵學生在家裡持續練習並完成功課。此外,也鼓勵家長利用口說作業,幫助孩子複習關於社區、天氣及季節的單元。
下週(6/19-6/23)
下週,學生將會有本學期最後一次的大考!學生將會持續完成社區的作業。課堂上也將會把焦點放在社區裡的工作者、方向和工作地點。我們鼓勵學生多思考社區裡的其他工作者及對社會的奉獻。
