Vallejo Band Review

Here is the schedule, information and map for the Vallejo Band Review. We will be on a very tight schedule so it is important that everyone is on time. When we move from one location to another, stay in a single file line and stay together.

THERE IS AN INSTRUMENT & UNIFORM INSPECTION BASED ON UNIFORMITY. ALL STUDENTS MUST LOOK AND WEAR THEIR UNIFORMS THE SAME.

All students are to bring …

·  Black socks that go past their ankles (NO ANKLE /GOLF SOCKS)

·  P.E. shorts to wear under the uniform (no jeans, sweat pants under uniform)

·  Short sleeve tee shirt (preferably dark colored such as Band shirt) for under the uniform,

NO TANK TOPS!

·  All Black Marching shoes with black shoes laces

·  All long hair must be pulled up into a pony tail, bring rubber bands and bobby pins. No hair can be showing outside of the hat. As parade is 1st, it would be beneficial is girls had their hair up and bobby pinned when they come to school. We can bobby pin any boys’ hair at Vallejo.

·  No jewelry can be worn and only light make-up. (no fingernail polish)

·  Their instrument, music, sticks and all other accessories

·  Students can bring a snack (should eat substantial breakfast before arriving at school – no eating on the bus). Band will provide granola bars, crackers and water.

6:45 am Report to the Band Room

7:15 am Leave Fallon

8:30 am Arrive at Vallejo High School, unload the truck

8:45 am Change into uniforms, leave nothing behind in the locker room!

9:00 am Instruments out, warm-up (leave cell phones in your case or with your street clothes)

9:15 am Move to Formation Area

9:35 am Arrive in Formation Area, additional arm-up

9:55 am Inspection Area, SEE ABOVE

10:05 am Step off into Competition

10:15 am Finish Parade

10:20 am Professional Photo

10:45 am Go back to equipment truck, marching equipment & hats away, concert equipment out

11:45 am Move to Concert Warm-up (Remember to bring your music!!!)

12:05 pm Concert Warm-up

12:30 pm Concert Ready Area

12:35 pm Concert Competition Performance

12:55 pm Finish Concert Competition, back to the truck, put all instruments away

1:00 pm Change out of uniforms, hang them up correctly (adults must check) and place on the

correct uniform rack in alphabetical order. Then help with loading equipment.

1:30 pm Load the buses, leave Vallejo *** Drum Major & Guard Captain staying with Mr. C

2:45 pm Return to Fallon, unload the truck, put equipment away. Parents, please be prompt in picking up students as Ms. Stein has to return to Vallejo.

*** Normally we would stay for the Awards Ceremony. However, they are not scheduled until 4:15 pm and three hours is just too much time to wait around for the results. We can save transportation costs by going home after we perform.

COMPETITION RESULTS WILL BE POSTED ON THE BAND WEB SITE SATURDAY EVENING
