Welcome to sports news, a regular update from your sports teams.

Upper Hutt Traditional Sports Exchange –

Our annual Sports exchange will take place at Heretaunga this year on Tuesday 16th June. Sports will include Netball - Prem 1 and Junior 1 Netball; Hockey – Boys first XI and Girls First XI; Rugby U65 and First XV; Basketball – Senior A boys; Senior A Girls; Junior A boys; Football – Girls first XI; Badminton- Senor A Boys and Senior A Girls; Ultimate – Mixed senior Team.

Sports Team Photographs – FRIDAY 19 JUNE 2015

ALL Sports Team Photos will be taken on Friday 19 June, this is earlier than usual. All members of the team MUST attend their photo wearing their correct sport uniform, a time table will be available at school next week. Where possible we encourage coaches to attend if they are available.

Netball

We have some exceptionally Talented Netball Players at school this year Taylor Green (year 13) was selected to play for the Aotearoa Maori Secondary Schools Team. She jetted off to the international schoolgirls tournament in Malaysia in May and playedinternational teams like Australia, Malaysia, Sri Lanka and teams from the Pacific. The Aotearoa Team won the tournament overall.

Taylor is hoping to get into the Pathway to Pulse development programme later this year. We wish you all the best Taylor!

Congratulations also to Brandi-Lee Wilson and Alicia Clegg for making the Hutt Valley U15 and U17 Rep Teams.

Winter Tournament Week – 31 August to 4 September

We have 4 teams going to Winter Tournament Week this year. Netball and Boys Hockey (Palmerston North) Girls Hockey (Taupo) Girls Football (Inglewood, Taranaki). The teams will be fundraising in a number of different ways so please support their efforts. All Players should have paid a $75 deposit to confirm their place in the tournament.

Have a GO at Sport - Indoor Bowls

As part of our commitment to increasing sporting participation at school we are continuing to work with Activation (Upper Hutt City Council) and Offer Have a Go Sessions in sport. These sessions are targeted at students who do not currently play sport for the school. Our focus this term is indoor Bowls, Students are encourages to have a go for 4 weeks and we will then have a friendly game against Upper Hutt College. Our 4 best players will then go on to represent the School at the College Sport Wellington Indoor Bowls Tournament later this term. Any Students wanting to have a go should come to the Sports Centre on Thursday at morning break.

Draws and Results

Draws and results are updated on Wednesday mornings and will be on the notice board by Morning Break. Notice boards are located in the Sports Centre and on the student side of the Main office. Alternatively you can look online www.collegesport.org.nz/college-sport-wellington

Sponsorship

We are looking for Sports Team Sponsors for 2015. If you would like to sponsor a sports team and have your companies name on the back of the team kit please contact Claire on 027 530 1999.

Finally, thanks to all our volunteer coaches and managers who have helped to run winter sport, you do an awesome Job!
